So the beginning of this year was hectic. Like many others because of the economic spectre haunting all of the country, the thought of not being able to find a job was scary. I know this because everyone in the New York metro area is feeling the crunch. My buddy Josh Hadro summed it up best when he commented in his gmail signature: "Dear Employers: Stop laying-off my friends." Times are grim and the worse hasn't even hit yet. Get your seat belts on.
That said, I was fortunate to be offered a J-O-B, job at Berkeley College in New Jersey. It's a great opportunity to work with a diverse population of students from many different backgrounds. I even get to travel between campuses in the Garden State. Beside reference service I will be teaching information literacy classes. I am very excited and look forward to learning a lot from the librarians as well as the campus community.
